Winter Skin Tips

5 TIPS FOR GLOWING WINTER SKIN. Does the cooler weather and dry conditions create dehydrated and chapped skin?

You may not realize it, but often in the winter our skin slowly depletes itself of moisture, eventually leaving it looking dull and dehydrated.

Dull skin lacks luster and color. Rosy cheeks are gone and sometimes even ashy patches of dry skin can be found around the mouth and other areas. Dehydrated skin looks tired and exposes all the fine lines and wrinkles. You likely didn’t suddenly age overnight- your skincare routine just needs a boost to accommodate for the elements.

  1. Exfoliate. Our skincare will not work well with dead and dry skin built up on the surface. Use a duel purpose facial exfoliant 1-3 times a week. My favorite is this one found here.

  2. Upgrade your cleanser to a creamy cleanser or an oil cleansing product. I love Avapure’s Daily Calm this year for chapped skin and it pairs well with Crunchi’s new cleansing balm.

  3. Moisturize- Even after using an oil cleanser or something softer on the skin, don’t skip out on moisturizing. You have done all that work to prepare the skin for your skincare- apply it. It is okay to use a heavier night cream during the day if your skin is thirsty.

  4. Apply your sunscreen. A safe sunscreen every single day of the year is the best anti-aging tip I can give you. Even in the dead of winter, we are exposed to the sun.

  5. Not necessarily a skin care product, but definitely recommended for winter skin. Amp up your water intake. More warmer beverages such as hot tea or coffee in the cooler months will dehydrate our skin rapidly. Consume your daily recommended ounces of water. If you need something warm, I love a nice mug of warm lemon water to nourish my body without dehydrating it.

Winter skincare doesn’t have to be a mystery. Try switching up your routine a bit. You get that plump, glowing skin back in no time.
